Default Difference Between GBF and FEP Tranny

Does anyone know if you can use a GBF transmission from a 2004 A4 Quattro, on a 2002 A4 Quattro which originally has a FEP tranny? Are there differences in sensors, gear ratio, etc?

There is a distinction made between two types of transmission. Transmissions with hydraulic control e17, have a inductive speed sensor. Transmissions with hydraulic control E18/2 have a Hall effect speed sensor. The computer is different of what have seen but i might be wrong.

Does that mean I can use the GBF tranny in place of the FEP as long as I change the TCM ?
