I just picked up my '04 A4 1.8T Quattro and the guy said he lost the owner's manual. I can pick one up on ebay, but for the time being...

Can any of you guys tell me what the switch is for that's inside the driver's door pocket? There's two switches there. One is the truck hatch but the other one lights up red when I hit it and there's a picture of a car going up hill with some lines above it.

Also, I have a sirius satalite radio unit that I move around from car to car. I see there's a "SAT" button on the Audi stereo and a strange looking lump of a thing on the roof. Does this mean that a stereo guy can plug my sirius directly to this stereo and I already have a satalite antenna?

the door switch turns off the tilt sensors for the alarm.

the sat button on the radio means you either have sat radio or it is is sat ready the 2004 onward a4s were pre wired for sat radio, look in the boot on the drivers side there should be a flap that you can open in there will be the sat radio unit or just the wires for one. you can get the units of ebay for cheap you will need a new subscription though.

 

Oh I see. I know there's nothing in the storage box in the trunk so I'm not sure which way to go. I do like moving the sirius around. Both cars, the garage, the house, the tractor. I've got the thing with me everywhere. I'll have to talk to the stereo guys and see what my options are.
