Default chipping

Hey guys,

quick question to all those who have their cars chipped (APR,etc)
Is it worth the money to chip tiptronic/auto transmission?
Would I still get the same kick as a manual?

I don't use tiptronic on my 03 A4, mainly b/c I'm scared it will **** up and then I'd have to worry about replacing it. What are your thoughts?

yes you will get the same effect...minus the ability to hold a gear longer since your not manual. You will get the same HP. I would recomend it.

Is your car chipped right now?
I just chipped an'01 S4/B5 with tip last friday. Test drove it without the tip modified.
It wasn't running as it should. Did the tip and everything worked A+

No, it's not chipped yet.
But I am considering getting it done sometime soon.

Not quite sure what you mean by "with/without the tip"

I have a GTI DSG and a TT 6 speed both chipped, highly recommend the chip, DSG actually responds quite well even when driven in auto mode.

Chipping your car gives you the HP that the cars should have come with from the beginning.

I REVO'd mine summer of 2008. Great feel to the 1.8T but I have replaced all my "coil packs" and I carry a spare in the trunk!

I chipped the car and test drove it without the Tiptronic chipped.
That didn't work too well. Then I chipped the Tiptronic and all was good.
This was just a test to see if the transmission computer can handle the torque without being modified.
There are some people around who say the Tiptronic doesn't have to be done.
That is wrong !

My coil packs when out a few weeks ago, also had to replace all of them.
Do you find that it happens more often, after chipping your car?

Can't agree more

Ahh I see. Would that fall under the same installation, or considered a separate charge? If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay including installation?
