Default A4 Transmission hit

Hi ,

I have a question to you guys , i am looking to buy 2004 Audi a4 tiptronic.

I have test drive one car , the transmission was good while i had drive on it i even change the gears with the tiptronic, but when i had park the car and change from N to D there is a huge hit on the transmission and you can feel this hit in the car .

Do you think its a transmission problem or its a easy fixed , and i can buy this car ?

Thank you all

Okay, just wondering because Quattros and FWD's have two different transmissions and the FWD CVT transmission is known to have lots of problems. Is the hard shifting only in cold or every single time? Maybe you can include a AT transmission fluid change in the deal and only buy the car if the problem is resolved?

i didn't felt this problem when the car was cold , after an 20 minuets of driving i started to feel this problem and its only happen when i change the gear from N to D , when i shifted from P to R there isn't any problem .
The owner suggested to go to the audi mechanic and to check this problem with them , so maybe i will do it and then i can know if to buy this car or not .

mikeshin92 thanks for your help .

that's actually a great idea. Best to get it checked by an Audi mechanic. He'll be able to tell you what the problem is or if it is a problem. BTW when you take the car into the Audi shop, let them do a full Vag-com scan on the car. These cars tend to have some sensors that can become potential problems and you can probably bring the price down if there is something wrong with the car. Good luck with your buy!

I think on very cold days, its harder for me to shift from p to d. I feel that i need to use more force in order to put it into d mode. But then that only happens on cold mornings as my car is not garage parked. I read you're suppose to change transmission fluid every 50k but i havent done any! Now im really worried if i've done some damage to my transmission. Im going to go get an alignment done, im going to ask them to look into it. What about the differential fluid? Do i need to change that as well?
