Re: A4 Doesn't Honk and beeps when car doesn't arm
mine does honk(back of the car) when i arm it but sometimes the alarm goes off for know apparent reason like if someone hit the panic button, light flashes and all that, i unlock the doors it's stops lock then again and it's starts all over again. I check all the doors if they are closed right but it still does it, I have to unlock and lock it several times before it stops.

Mine dies the same but no flashing lights. Sometimes nothing turns off the beeping except waiting 15 or 20 seconds. After the beeping runs its course the lock and unlock operate normally with a single beep cofirmation. After driving the car a bit the same cycle occurs. Does anyone know if the alarm horn can be disconnected without confusion the security system?

I can say for a fact that the "back siren" is as loud as it gets!
My car was broken into in the wonderful city of Edmonton, this is how I know!
The reason for the faint sound is that nobody in their right mind will approach a break-in in progress and there is no point pissing-off the neighbours! THat is only a warning to the people who are damaging your vehicle.
In the AUDI case, when the car is "attacked" the doors are immobilised: they do not open/unlock and the car will not start unless a FOB is used. Also if the car is locked and armed with someone in it the doors do not unlock... the siren will sound faintly.
The vehicle also has a "tilt" alarm in case of being towed illegally or lifted while the wheels are being stolen... the siren sounds and the car immobilises: no ignition no doors can be open without a FOB.

I did read every single thread…
All of a sudden when I lock my car with any of my key fobs, and making sure all doors, hood/trunk…etc are fully closed. Pressing the key fob, he lights light up the car close up.
The driver side red light stays one for a few seconds and then blinks which to me means that the alarm is armed/activated but no chrip/beep as before!
Same goes when pressing the panic button, hazrads lights go on non stop but no sounds whatsoever
I guess the battery inside the horn module should simply be cracked in order to replace the 3.6 volts battery?
This module is located on the right side of the trunk
Would this work or I need the dealership?
Or screw it! Who needs alarm and beep as long as it locks completely???
One post said it was a costly $250 part (voice coil shorted internally)
Any suggestions please?
