My car sometimes beeps intermittently when arming the system. It eventually goes off after 30 seconds.

When I arm the car with the remote, the lights flash, but no audible except for a slight beep, very faint. Unless of course the 30 second beeps starts again. The panic button triggers the beeps again.

I'm guessing something's off, and the previous owner disabled the horn audible???

Anyone know what the issue might be?

When arming, your confirmation is a quick beep; there is no horn honk. If you don't heard the beep it means it's not armed. This happens when a door is not properly closed, etc.

It sounds to me like everything is normal for you...

 

Thanks for the update. I do hear the beep indicator when the car arms. However, at times, the car will continually beep for 30 seconds after arming. The used dealer I bought it from said it's b/c the car didn't arm 'properly'.

When the Panic button is hit, the car doesn't honk, it beeps like the arming issue noted above. My experience is usually the horn sounds when the alarm goes off or if the panic button is hit. the beeping is just too faint a sound to really be a deterent.

The beep is the way the Audi works it should not be too loud bit it should not be too quiet either!

Also, is it normal to beep continuously after the car is armed/mis-armed?

Further to this, yes, I hear the one quick beep when arming, however, for some reason, some times, when the car is completely secure, a series of beeps goes off for an extended period of time, lasting about 30 sec.

yes, the panic button only sets off the beeps. There is no horn "alarm" or indicator on the car.

 

thank you all for the feedback. i'll sleep better knowing there isn't some electrical anomaly creeping through the wiring of my car.

i have the same problem with the beeping...drives me nuts when i lock and it starts going off. I read online that the battery might be dying and being that the electronics are so sensitive in these cars it is not getting a constant voltage thinking that someone cut the power on the car...

 

i also was wondering about the alarm part of this issue. So Audi dosen't have a LOUD alarm even if someone is breaking into it? Or if you need the panic to notify people your in trouble. what's the point if it dosen't deter someone or let people in the area know.
