A4 (B6) 1.9Tdi 2001 Turbo fix?

Hi. I drove the A4 (B6) 1.9Tdi...now my wife drives it because she loves the car. Driving behind her on her way to work yesterday morning I noticed black smoke from pull away to second gear. I phoned Ferrolli Performance Centre (South Africa...I'm from S.A) and they said it sounds like the turbo is on it's way out.
Here's the question...can I fix the turbo by means of a kit?
