Default A4 3.0 new clutch, new problem

Hi Guys,

I just had my clutch and flywheel replaced 2 weeks ago. Ever since then, it's been tough to get my car in 1st gear or reverse when the car is at a stand still. When it's rolling the shifting is smooth as silk. Any ideas? Could there have been a problem with the clutch install? Or maybe my syncro's are going?

Thanks

sounds like a slave problem, did they replace it? bring it back to the shop and tell them your issue, they may bleed it for you quickly for nothing

Hi Sean,

Thank you for the reply but I'm not sure what you're talking about buddy. It the slave the component that holds the hydraulic fluid for the clutch?

the slave is bolted to the transmission and actuates the clutch fork in the transmission, if there is air in there the air will compress and not allow full extension of the slave causing hard to engage gears when the cars not moving
