Default A4 2005 HID Xenon Update (headlight)

Hey,

For my first upgrade on my car I want to change my headlight to put HID Xenon. I looked on eBay (and others place like it).

First of all I was wondering if i should put 6000k or 8000k, i finally choose to go with 8000k. I don't know the difference between H1 and H7...

I found two items on eBay H7-AUDI A4 02-09 Xenon HID Kit-Head Light-8000K on eBay.ca (item 220482795030 end time 17-Apr-10 01:00:55 EDT) and Xenon HID Kit H1 8000K Audi Allroad Quattro 04 05 2005 on eBay.ca (item 150423202554 end time 12-Apr-10 14:09:05 EDT)

The first item is listed for "Audi A4 02-09" (mine is 2005).
The other is for "Audi Allroad".

Which one is the best ? (If you know better place or product, let my know.)

My car : A4 2005 Quattro (black).

Why 8000k? those lights are going to be purple, the 6000k are bluish, and Audis standard is 4300k. There are a lot of links on here for headlights and HID kits if you use the search button I am sure you will find plenty. The bulb difference is the actual bulb your vehicle uses, and its fitment within the housing.

When i checked at some "color chart" i found the 10000k more "purpleish" than the 8000k. I may be completly wrong, i'm always wrong..

Those comparisons are crap IMO, check Wikipedia for Kelvin color temperature or I have attached a color chart that is comparable and does a very good job.

I bought and installed 6000k and I somewhat regret it. I should have bought 4300k.

Go for 4300k or 5000k no higher

You might want to consider the bulb life as well... higher the K, lower the lifespan.

Hm... ok. I tought 8000K was a good choice, but not anymore, i'll think about it.

Other question: What is the price range for good HID?

I bought probably one of the most expensive kits on ebay. So far so good!

Most people on here swear by the made in China cheapies. they are so cheap that you can just keep buying new ones.
