Default 2005 Audi A4 3.0 Fuel Consumption

Something is wrong with my cars fuel consumption. I fill it with 91 gas, and drive it approximately 50/50. Of the 90 hours of driving of my ownership, it wastes an average of 14.3L/100KM !!!!! This is terrible mileage...I do not know what is wrong. Anyone else had a similiar problem?

Sorry that is far worse than our 2005 3.0. We have a manual transmission and get between 10L / 100km to 12L / 100km depending on driving routes, traffic etc. Long distance cruising on the highway, I find it quite easy to get better than 10L / 100km.

Start by looking at the obvious things such as tire pressure, dragging brakes, condition of MAF etc. VCDS logging will help get a feel for the MAF readings and identify if sensors might be out. Don't believe all sesnor problems would generate a CEL so you need to go start checking everything.

Tire pressure and brakes are good. I put it on the computer couple weeks ago and no codes were found. May I ask how many k's you made? Have you changed the oxygen sensor?

We're at 121,000 km. Never changed the oxygen sensor.

I also have a 3.0 a4 & I usually average 10l/100km mixed driving.
I'm able to get 8l/100km if I take it easy on the HWY
