I need to replace my driver's side headlight assembly for my A4 Avant (2002- 2005 model). It is Xenon with an OEM number that appears to be: 8EO 941 029 AB (not a typo...AB and not BA). I got an '05 to '08 assembly (which ends in BA), but according to the person who tried to put it in, it doesn't fit. The only thing I can find for my model online are the Halogen lights.

Do a search for B6 Xenon headlight. You need to be a little careful when searching worldwide as 2005 was also the B7 model year in most of the world except North America - sounds like that is what your BA part number represents. I just did a quick search and there are lots of hits for the B6

 

I have an early 2005 (B6). Lots of choices for halogen, but I'm not finding xenon--unless I want to pay over $600--which price I can get from my mechanic anyway. The B7 version (OEM 8E0 941 029 BA) I have was under $300.
