Default 2005/.5 a4 2.0 or 3.0 for modding= that big a diff?

hey guys, im looking to buy an audi soon for my first car. been looking at them for several years (you may remember me from a year or so ago) anyway, im just wondering why the turbo is considered better for modding? are parts just cheaper/ easier to install? is it harder to get more power out of it? im looking to do some modding on it (want to push 340 bhp) probly max. obviosly it will take me a while. I was wondering, if power overall is the issue, could you just put a turbo/supercharger on the v6? along with other mods. If you I should go with the turbo, is there that big a diff between the 05 1.8 and 2005.5 2.0? cause i like the earlier body style better.

Also how hard is it to push those numbers I mentioned? I mean it will be my daily driver but i will take it to the track every chance i get.

sorry, i know its a lot to answer

Humm...where to start. If your looking at moding and gettin thouse numbers..the 3.slow is out of the question. There are no parts for it out of sheer supply and demand, and theres no demand. The 1.8 or the 2.0 are great. If im not mistaken, the 2,0 is basicaly a bored out version of the 1.8t. It would probably be slightly easier to get 350 with the 2.0t. To get thouse numbers you are going to have to go Big turbo or more then likely Big *** Turbo. Thats alot for your daily driver but there are guys on audizine who could probably answer these questions better as there are a few guys pushing the 400 with a BT on the 1.8. It costs alot. I warn you of that first but theres nothing wrong with a passion and a hobby so go for it!!!

thanks man, great help
to be honest i was origional going to set my goal as 300 hp (crank) but i started to think 320 might be a future. then as i was writing it i raised to to 340 on accident. but i thought 320 might still be pretty high but i wanna set that as MAX.

well once you go big turbo...you will be able to range from the 330 to the 400 depending on internals, tunning, clutch, breaks....list goes on but just dont forget about the drive train either...with that much power...hell even with my APR stage 1 i can get the clutch to slip...you can only imagine what you will do to it with 300+ HP!! i say go for it though man!!!
