Last week I was driving on the highway and some small piece of debris slammed into my windshield and left a circular crack the size of a pop can. I called Apple Autoglass, and they said that anything larger than a loonie calls for a new windshield. What I'm wondering is, where should I get this fix done? Will a windshield from Apple be lower quality, and will it have a different look from my other windows? Also, what should I expect to pay? Thanks for any help.

 

My present car has a cheap replacement windshield (done by dealer before I bought it used) and I do find it has some irregularities in it that I doubt you'd see in an OEM unit. Most noticeable when looking through it at a very sharp angle (say toward the far right hand side when sitting in the drivers seat). That said I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay $500 more for one that is perfect. Just a tiny thing.
