i do my own oil changes...i'm starting to accumulate used oil. Where can i recycle it. 2 or 3 yrs ago one of the clerks from canadian tire at heartland said we can just leave it on the side of their shop as they take it, but i never got around to doing so... Is this okay though?
Sorry i dont know where but, you could ask canadian tire again. I work where they store used motor oil so i asked if i could dump mine there and it was ok. Some places might charge you for it.
Canadian Tire will recycle old oil and oil filters. I also recycle old antifreeze or brake fluid too. You just have to ask where to leave it. Most times it's by one of the loading bays. You can even recycle old rotors in their metal recycling.

thanks cyber. I've checked with the local canadian tire and they take the oil, even the use oil filter as well. They have a fence where people would just leave it.
