Hi people just wondering I have a 1996 A4 Quattro would a set of 225/65/16 be ok. Right know Im using 205 55 16. What kind of difference would it make? Thanks

the answer is yes they would work but really no benifit to you. You would have a larger contact patch but on 16s you still have a very large side wall that has alot of give. If you are just trying to get cheap tires it would be fine, but if you are actulay trying to improve the handeling you wont be doing anything. you need larger rims or one hell of a high end tire for 16s.

increasing the middle number of the tire will increase the height of the side walls thus offsetting the speedometer so if you want to go to a wider tire then original you should go smaller like 225/45/16.

As long as all four tires are the same size, it will work. The speedo might be off but no other problems.

You need to have a lower profile tire if you go with a wider width (ie: 225/50/16) ... Check out this site to determine what tire sizes are equivalent to "stock": Tire Calculations
