I've got a 2001 1.8T A4 premium package, I think, it has the red slash on the T, I noticed that my suspension is alot lower than others A4's even other 01's. I know for a fact it's not lowered aftrmarket. Anyone want to shed some light on this? Could it have the sport suspension package on it? Could I know through the VIN or any RPO codes or anything?

 

You have the sport package, we have tighter shocks and a rear sway bar. Good choice on the pick up, we dont have to spend money on coil overs and shocks unless you want to go lower.

 

That's great news. You put that together just from the red slash? I read on another forum it just means that it's the 170hp edition.

 

I have the same edition as you from what it sounds like, i have the red slash, and i have the sports suspension and the sway bar, our cars are definately stock, and lower to the ground, and also i am pretty sure all 1.8t for 2001 were 170hp

you're right on the engine part, they all the 170hp. I'll check out the site. Soon as the snow ends i'm putting on my new S4 wheels, 225/45/17, hope the car either sits the same or goes down lower, lol. I have to admit it handles quite nice and was thinking og lowering it but i'll have to see how it sits with the wheels on.

 

Good luck, im sure the s4 wheels will fit, aslong as your not trying to put some like 20" on it you shouldnt have much of a problem, but if you do you could always get your fenders rolled or get spacers or whatever.

I dont know much about rims, i like my stock sport rims, but if i ever have 1k burning a hole in my pocket i might think about some OZ's

 

Check what color the springs/shocks are they should be red on the B6 models not sure about the b5 the red ones are sport suspension

 

I just read up on this in the audiworld forums. If it's red it's the sport suspension even on the B5. Very happy!

 

Yah mine are red, noticed that after changing the front brake pads last weekend.

 

I have an 05 with the sport package do i get that suspension too?
