my B5 A4 remote door opener batteries are dead and i was wondering if someone can tell me what type of battery assebly is inside the remote.
to explain my confusion:
when i was opening the remote something fell out of of it (which i couldnt find) there were 2 batteries inside #1620. now i was wondering if the "thing" that fell out was the third (smaller) battery?
i went to the dealer but he is telling me that it only takes 2 batteries.
i'll try to attach a pic to show the missing "link".

 

I think that little link is important. I don't think the remote would work without it.
unless you are mechanically advanced and make your own.

 

That small link was just a contact plate for remote to work/ receive power from batteries... had to stretch it out a bit and clean out connections. now the remote works fine
