hahaha I bet he was mean muggin you ... or had the what the hell look. Hey, that pop happens right when I leave my parking spot on the street. I turn wheel to go around the car in front of me then center the wheel and I get a suddle popping noise. Thanks and I hope you blast some more cars with soot. O yeah and the pop only happens once, sounds like its coming from front driver side. After it pops it is fine through turns and on road.

 

Sheesh! Your pics look like the cat melted from repeated overheating. Typically caused by failed emissions sensors and continued driving. The PO should have seen a flashing CEL under boost for awhile before cat melted bad enough to plug exhaust.

BTW, the cat material and related dust is toxic. Should wear gloves and mask when handling material.

After removing cat, do you have emissions DTC's with CEL now or ?

 

Uhhh, seriously? Toxic..... i didnt use gloves nor a mask and i inhaled a lil dust but then took it out side....

No cel... i dono i dont think its working...

Plus the post sensor is meltedd.. Go figure if this thing was that ****ed and then me drivin hours and hours with it... Till i couldnt take it any more...

 

Yes to toxic cat material and dust. As a precaution, I would hose down the remnant garage dust esp if you have pets.

The CEL should come on when you turn on ign but do not start engine. Does it?

Have you scanned for DTC's?
