i have an after market cd player installed in my 97 a4, problem is there is no sound from the rear speakers or passenger side(left).also the memory will not hold stations.......the wiring is original and my unit went straight in..............any ideas?

ive been told there is an amp in the rear speakers?.......can i by pass this or can i power it separate or even from my unit?....its kenwood KDC-W312

 

i too installed an aftermarket head unit (pioneer p2300dvd) and cant get sound to the rear stock-amplified speakers(no rear speakers work), anyone have any idea whats going on?

i do in fact have the remote-on wire connected and am using a metra wiring conversion harness. everything is wired correctly.
