Question need advice on maintenance cost 2001 audi a4 quatro

Hi Guys,

I would really appreciate if you can give me an idea of what I am looking at in maintenance cost for an a4 2001 quatro with 140k on it. I am trying to assess what my costs will be at least for the next 2 years of owning this car. Thank you very much!

Make sure your timing belt has been replaced.

Depends on its previous owner's driving habits: control arms, clutch if manual, and a few light bulbs... do the car a favour and replace all the fluids: coolant, power steering, brake, transmission/case, differentials, and make sure the new fluids have additives (transmission/case/differentials).

These are nice cars: properly maintained they do last...

Hey, welcome to the forum...

Pretty much what max said... check the cars maintenance record... make sure the timing belt has been done and that the suspension is tight...

if those 2 are ok, then you're in good shape...

it also depends if you would take your car to audi service? by doing regular maintenance yourself, you can cut down the cost significantely. or have a reliable mechanic that doesnt charge too much.

What I've had done to my 01 A4 in the last 2½ years (off the top of my head, I know I'm missing some)

- Flex Pipe
- Vacuum Hoses
- Clutch (I got a Stage II )
- Rear Rotors
- Control arms
- Xenon Bulb ($200)
- Timing Belt $$
- MAF
- Spark Plugs
- Oil Leak
- Rip in Drivers seat (95% of you share this same problem) (Might get custom interior done)
- Raido is shitting out randomly - but CD Player still works

Its made modifying the car difficult. Soon as I run into cash, it needs something else. My Check engine light just came on again, I also received a recall letter from audi about some sesnor they'll replace up to 160,000km.. I didn't read much further as to im at 164,000
