If i remember correctly if the car is DBW u dont need it soldered if its DBC you do but i might be wrong. Im pretty sure the only reason they need to solder on some of them is because the original chip in the ecu wont hold more than one program.

Drive by wire and Drive by cable yours is going to be a Drive by Cable because you have an actual thorttle cable going to the throttle body i think it was in 2000 that they changed over to a electronic throttle body and gas pedal.

 

ARGH this sucks, that means that I need to pay that 140 extra...Can I find the chip somewhere and solder it myself on?

 

well im not a 100% sure if the DBC or DBW is the deciding factor for the chip soldering. and unless you know how to soder properly i wouldnt touch the ecu lol cause you could end up paying alot more than 140.

 

i know how to solder, honestly if i had the software i would flash the ecu myself but i dont so i gotta pay someone who does...ill see what the guy from the apr dealer says, i might take it in on saturday so he can tell me for sure if i need that or not..

on another note....is there any hp gain out of the dv?

what other light mods can give power? (not k04s and fmic and stuff that will cost more than i paid for my car)....i was hopping to creep close to 250-300 but seeing that this whole time i understood wrong the 225tt injectors thing i wont go anywhere past 200

 

Dv does nothing for power but your still gonna need to change yours if you dont its eventually gonna go because of the extra boost i have a aftermarket dv but theres one you can get from the dealer which is pretty cheap and it will work fine even after chipped i just dont remember the Part number. You can do exhaust it definetly helps there was a group buy on the forums. You wont be seeing 300 unless you go for a bigger turbo.

i actually am in contact with h2sport for the chip, as for the dv I will change it myself soon after i get it chipped...
