Default Help re: headlight bulb choice

Anyone know if I can use eagle eye 100w H7 bulbs in place of the stock 55w bulbs that are in there or is 100w too high of wattage? Any info would help. Thanks!

Why not upgrade with an HID kit? It will give you much more output with less wattage. Many have done so.

yup. go with HID upgrade, same 55W wattage. 55W HID are super bright! Could also go with 35W HID for about same brightness as H7 or maybe a touch more than H7 brightness. 100W will melt everything around it. I upgraded to HID and it's great. For high beams though, the HID take a few seconds to fully warm up to full brightness, so you will note a little less "performance" when flashing high beams, etc. Great for night driving out of town though.

HID high beams are definitely a great idea if u like to blind people that cut you off (like i do), but i wouldn't go ahead with the upgrade if you flash your high beams a lot, as this shortens the life of the bulbs greatly.

good point, but I've found a place where the bulbs are only about $30 each, not $175 like at the dealer!

Lol the dealer is never a good idea unless u absolutely have to buy something that doesn't exist in the aftermarket.. Their prices are ridiculous. But $30 for HID bulbs is a fair price

Ok so looks like I'll go with a HID setup.. I'm thinkin a 7000k or 8000k because I don't want it to be too purpley.
Are there any good DIY websites that'd have a step by step on installation?
Thanks for the help and the advice peeps.

I have 8000K on fogs/DRL and high beams and there's just a hint of blue. It depends on manufacturer though and one 8000K may not look like another 8000K. Have OEM spec 6000K HID on low beams. I haven't seen any 7000K bulbs out there but could be. Your 2000 A4 likely has same fog lights as DRL as my car. I'd go with 35W or 55W HID in fogs as well. Mine are now so bright, that they'd have no problem passing for headlights as far as throwing enough light for car to seen 500feet ahead as per HTA. Their light pattern though is low and close to car so they don't illuminate road far enough in front to perform as low beams. With my low beam and fog HIDs all on, car looks like an aircraft coming in for landing from in front! My auto leveling on low beams still works well so at least they are aimed properly. I read somewhere that in Europe you weren't allowed to install any HID without auto leveling devices integrated with lights.

Ya I'll be doing the fogs and low beams at the same time.. Probably 8000k. I'm thinkin they'd look best with a white car.
Just need to find a job step by step site to show me how.
