so my 98 a4 with the 1.8t started to gring everytime you downshift into second gear. it doesnt do it all the time just every once in a while. the clutch is pretty worn out and will need to be replaced. would a worn out clutch cause this, it only does it in 2nd gear though.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

yup and also low/old fluid in the tranny... just go have it taken a look at asap. i would drive too hard on the baby.
