1999 A4 B5 1.8T Quattro AEB engiine

I want to test the fuel pressure, the only place i can see to connect a T fitting is right at the fuel rail inlet, otherwize i'd have cut & to splice it into the hose leading to it which i'd really rather not have to do.
Does anyone know the type and size of fitting this is? i need to find something compatible for a T fitting.

All you need to do is disconnect the line SOMEWHERE, connect your gauge and turn the key to on: that will pressurize the fuel line, and you can take a quick reading!

YOU DON'T NEED TO RUN/CRANK THE ENGINE, unless you fear an intermittent problem with the pump... then you need to drive while monitoring the fuel pressure.

 

Yes, true, but that reading will be misleading because you're not flowing fuel to the injectors. A weak pump may still be able to come up to pressure under no flow, same for a clogged fuel filter. but run it at WOT, and you see the pressure crash.
And i was concerned aboout it being an intermittent pump problem.
