First snowfall = a4 death.
So, yesterday for those in the GTA may or may not know was the first heavy snow fall for us. 5-10 cm came down over night and in the morning it started to warm up. As I'm driving on the 404 I get off on finch, but to my surprise was a puddle the size of a decent sized POND in the middle of my lane! (i was not on the exit lane, i was in the 3rd lane which is a live lane) so naturally, i try avoiding the f*cking thing but traffic in the morning is nuts so i had no where to go and by the time i realized the sheer size of the damn thing, my car was floating in the middle of it.
Tow truck came and pushed me out, car was trying to start but couldn't. alternator and battery were all still kicking, but there was so much slush and snow that seeped in from the giant puddle that i was all out of options.
My mechanic calls me today and says he couldn't move the car cuz it was frozen, so he had to flatbed it in garage. Now, Ive accepted to lose this car, but does anyone have any experience with flood/water damage and if there's even a chance of recovering it? I don't want to look for another car just yet, (wallet doesnt have enough money) so I'd like to know your take on this situation.
Thanks

Holly!!!! I just reread this in the morning. It was in your lane!!! Hydrocloging is very dangerous for the engine, but a lot of times taking it apart and letting it just dry out works. I hope your ride is going to be okay!

Yes, you may have hydrolocked your engine. Basically, if the water is high enough it goes through the air filter, down the air intake and into the engine. Do you have a cone type high flow air filter or the OEM Audi Box Air filter setup?

if he got that much water in the engine and it has hydrolocked with the low temps, like -10 it might have pushed the gaskets........so if they get it started check for oil contamination and leaks.....well they should dump the oil before they even try to start it, but they wont.

insurance wrote it off -_-
my audi's gone... it hydro locked. intake took in too much water, and i guess it didn't help that everything froze the day after.
