Default Entering radio code

Howdy all

I wonder if anyone out there knows the procedure for entering the radio code in a 1996 A4 2.8 Quattro. I DO have the code but I do not have the owners manual for instruction on entering it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Greg

Usually it's hold the RDS and FM1 Buttons to allow you to enter the code. use the first 4 radio preset buttons to actully enter the code

RAdio codes and programing remote entry fobs and to include the transponder key is always a problem.
I had the same problem with my BMW and it took three different tries with three different codes to get it to work so maybe you have the wrong code you can't trust what was in the glove box as reliable information.
BMW is very good at releasing the information on the above, but I find the Audi Dealers want to charge for everything.
In time I will be posting the information for rtadio codes and how to's for remotes and keys as I hate to pay for these items when they should be readily available from the STEALER.
There are several retailers of keys and fobs that have the info but want to charge for it also. There is also a web site for radio codes but again not free. So eventually I will find the info and give it out willingly for free.

Ummmmm........no need........as I already posted that in the DIY section only if you searched a bit you can easily find it. A lot of people do not know that we have a search button

Can you post a pic of the Radio ? Every Different one has a different combo. Try RDS and PSCAN on the old Monsoon type.

Sorry, ktownboostn, unfortunately my digi/cam is out of commission but, I can describe a few features of the unit.

on the door of the cassette player are the words "Audi delta" and "Dolby system"

the on/off button is round and pops in and out to turn system on/off/adjust volume

immediately to the right of the on/off button are the two small round buttons that pop in and out for Treble and Base adjustment immediately below those are the word GALA and up/down symbols

just above and slightly right of the Bass Button the word "code" is printed in small red letters right on the stereo face

this system has a Scan button but no PScan button and it has a combined FM1/2 button rather separate FM1 and FM2 buttons

if I can find a cam to borrow I will post a pic

thx again for trying to help

No proble man. There are alot of radios out there so it's hard to get you the right combo without actully seeing it .

Try the AM and FM1 Buttons at the same time . <---- Old Audi Bose

AM and ARI-Z <---- Audi Delta

Most of the NEW ones use RDS and PSCAN.

A pic will still help if those don't work. But i will get you the right combo !

Heyya ktownboostn, you got it right on the last one. It is indeed DX and FM1/2. I stopped by a dealership this morning and they hooked me up. No charge I might add.

When I get my battery back for my digcam I will post a pick and the procedure for everyones' future reference.

Thx again for your efforts!
