Default Dippin down to minus 35

What do you guys do to ensure start at minus 35 degrees?

So far this is what I have done

Gas - 50% Shell 50% Esso (did not develop trust for shell yet)
Fuell Additives - 150ml methanol + STP Injector Cleaner
Air Filter - sprayed with lock deicer

You don't have to worry so much! Adding fuel additives and injector cleaner is not going to make it run any better in the cold. Normal Pump gas is 100% fine. I have never heard of ANYONE spraying deicer on their filter.. Deicer is a chemical that is used to melt ice.. Only way to get ice is by freezing water.. If your filter is getting that wet that its freezing, you have other issues. The little bit of moisture thats in the air in the winter will not make your filter freeze.

AGain, worry about your battery and your freezing points of your coolant.. Don't worry about your fuel!

had a inline coolant heater fitted to my a4 2002 works great did nothing else.

Gasoline has a freezing point of -40 F. Gazoline containing some ethanol freezes less than -40 f.

Admittedly this question has not come up before and most members wouldn't be as paranoid or concerned as you.

I also agree that the concern would be the cranking ability of a cold battery rather than getting fuel to the engine.

Unleaded gasoline has a freezing point around -120F to -140F depending on the ethanol content and other factors.

You need to worry about the battery, not your fuel. If you have moisture in your gas it will also freeze at typical winter temps like -5 to -20. Dipping to -35 will not make any difference. Battery cranking however is a different matter.

My concern is humidity at 90 percent. It goes into air intake and freezes there. I am doing a trip to Invermere through the Rockies to bring 120 bottles of my wine and I do not want the product spoiled.

Just added diesel fuel conditioner, and it runs normal again. Smells like diesel thou.

Just a good full synthetic motor oil will do just fine and a good battery.

You won't be seeing any humid air at these temps!! It's 37% at -5 right now.
