Turns out we were all wrong. Bryan at Independent Tuning determined it was a broken exhaust pipe (connects directly to the engine). The lack of back pressure was messing everything up. The weld had broken over time. He welded it back and all is good. Cost me only $200.00.

I'm so happy it wasn't anything more serious.

I was really impressed with Independent Tuning. Very professional and knowledgeable. Immaculate workshop as well. I'm definitely going back. I"m sure another shop (or Audi) for that matter would have charged me thousands of dollars and/or suggested more expensive fixes.
