I have a 98 a4, the steering feels heavy because the car is heavy.It makes the quattro work well in the snow. My idle wanders also, there is a DIY on AudiWorld to remove and clean the idle control valve.There is also a fuel throttle adaptation that you can try, it is on this forum under tips and tricks.Excellent advice on testing the abs with vag-com while driving,the speed probes are expensive to replace.The vac-com will cycle the abs,but only if it is an applicable part# and software like esl,or edl, can't remember exactly but I know it isn't common.Check with the dealer for specifics on your Model ABS.
