Default B5 Clutch

Hi,

I just bought a '96 2.8L 5spd. It looks fantasic, but compared to what I am used to the clutch release is very high (the pedal travels almost back to it's resting position).
Is this normal?
It is very different from my previous BMW. Do I need a new clutch? or is this how the B5 is supposed to be?
I drove a '98 1.8T and it also released at this high point. The only difference is on the '98 there was no resistance in the clutch pedal, so I assumed something was wrong.

Thanks,

sounds interesting, i had a crappy old clutch and a brand new one and the release point is still in the center...ish not at the top.

both on the same A4

I always felt the release point on B5's are quite high, even for where the clutch pedal sits alone. I have had 2 B5's my first one was 225km OG clutch and its the same as my new b5 with a stage 2 clutch.

it sits a bit high, you should be able to adjust the pedal position but make sure clutch sensor still catches it or you won't be able to turn on your car. but i do think the clutch sits a bit higher than the bmw's,
