Default Audi newbie - basic question - "ln 2"?

Hi,
I just got an Audi B5.
Whenever I start my car the following flashing under the odometer, "ln 2".
After about 30seconds it goes away and the trip distance is displayed.
I have two questions about this;
First, what is "ln 2" supposed to mean?
Second, i can't seem to reset the trip comupter. Is this related somehow?

As with many other used cars, this one didn't come with the user's manual.

Thanks,

It is a service reminder from your car's computer. Don't remember what the service is now. Don't have the manual with me

I believe its 1998 and before you need the full version of vagcom theres a process to doing it which i can find for you if you have it. if you are 1998.5 and newer you can do it with a combination of pressing dash ***** and turning the ignition on. In 2 is just a service reminder so you are forced to go to the dealer so they can bend you over and stick it "In 2"
