Hey i was intreseted in upgrading my stock 1.8t to some thing that will put me in the 250-300hp range, my car currently has 150,000kms and was just wondering if this is to many kms to even consider a turbo upgrade and what are some suggestions/ prices for a turbo upgrade to get me in this power range...?

well it still avg mileage for a car to even go big turbo, and the prices you are looking are 3-5k depending where u get the product who is ur buddy at the mechanic shop.

thisis jsut the turbo, without the fmic, exhaust, dv, bov, intake manifold, chip upgrade.

 

wow, pricy, i was thinking about the same thing, but mine is still shy of 120,000 km. i dont think you really need the BOV in that one, its about 100, but it just makes engine run rich.

 

Ya that is pricy, now im considering just installing a chip (unitronic possibly), forge DV, and mabey an exhaust and hope to see at least 220-240 hp....?

 

Best thing as a daily driver for me and I'm not gonna race it, get exhaust, fuel injectors, then chip car. That's stage 2.

For unitronics standards lol. Chip cost about 700 dollars, injectors cost 200-300 bucks. Looking about 1k. need to start saving.
Also keep in mind after chipping the car, make sure u have extra coil packs in the trunk to replace the old ones. Common issue for our cars is having to have our coilpacks blown. Easy plug and play thing

 

Ya that sounds more like it, what kind of exhaust u recommend? I don't want any thing to loud just something that's deep under load , looking to spend no more that 1500 on everything ....

 

I contacted a local tuning shop and they suggested this.... stage 1+ unitronic software, forge turbo inlet pipe and forge DV .. saying this should be about $1300.00 installed including tax.

This a fair deal for the price...?

I'm guessing at least a 50 hp gain....

 

so this would bring the car to about 170 + 50 = 220 its not too bad. Does the chip have upgrade guide, like a path to stage 2?
