steve: just read some stuff on the new haldex system, it actually sounds pretty good, TBH i've never driven a car with haldex so i guess i won't know until i actually drive one. The A3 has the same system as the TT right?

Yup, 4th Gen is definitely better than old. A3,S3, TT all have it in the Audi line. Even the Veyron uses it ...
