Default A4 performance parts advice?

Hey, im purchasing my first audi this week. Its a 1997 A4 1.8t quattro. I want to add some fast horsepower to it and was wondering what aftermarket performance parts i should add to boost Hp and torque. Also whats your opinion on boost gauges?

Hey, welcome

I have a 97 1.8t also so i think i'm a little bit qualify to give you some answer. First thing first, get a chip. Since it's a 1997 you need a physical chip soldered into the ecu. I think only APR and GIAC provides chip for our car. Well that was the case back when i was looking.

Boost gauge is nice to have. That way you know if your car is running on proper boost. Upgrade your diverter valve also because the oem one is prone to fail under heavy boost.
Oh and no need for cold air intake, because the gain is very minimal, unless you like the louder sound.

That should be a nice start

You can also read up on other upgrades at audizine and audiworld. Join audizine cause there are alot of audi drivers from ontario on there.
