I'm brand new to the forum, so please excuse me if I ask a seemingly foolish question or if it has been answered before. I just purchased a 99 A4 1.8 turbo quattro sedan. It has 125,000 miles on it and it has an automatic transmission. Currently, the brake light and ABS light are both on. Is there a common problem with these that I should check out first? Could it be a speed sensor? Thanks for a ny help.

 

Hey, welcome to the forum. Best thing to do is to find someone with a vag-com and scan it and give us the codes.

 

Thanks. I'll see if someone in town has the right scanner. Hate to go to the dealer; they're pretty spendy.

 

yeah... its best if you get a vag com if you're going to keep the car for long... or at least find someone who has one...
