98 A4 2.8 stalls after filling up
This started recently, and happens every time I put gas in the car now. Immediately after filling up it idles very rough and will usually stall once or twice. Once it starts and idling settles down, it is fine until the next fill up. Replaced the gas cap just in case, but that didn't help.
Read the following fault codes with VCDS:
17544/P1136/004406 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Lean
Possible Solutions
* *▪ * *Check Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor
* *▪ * *Check Fuel Pressure Regulator
* *▪ * *Check Fuel Pump
* *▪ * *Check Intake/Exhaust System for Leaks
* *▪ * *Check Secondary Air Injection for Leaks
* *▪ * *Check Vacuum Lines for Leaks
Special Notes
* *▪ * *Fuel Trim Info
* *▪ * *When this fault is stored and external vacuum leaks are not found, less obvious problems may be present:
* *▪ * *Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80)
* *▪ * *Check Brake Booster and Hoses
* *▪ * *Check Electric Vacuum Pump ( If Applicable )
* *▪ * *Check Crankcase Ventilation System for faulty components
* *▪ * *
16825/P0441/001089 - EVAP Emission Control Sys: Incorrect Flow
Possible Symptoms
* *▪ * *Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active
Possible Causes
* *▪ * *Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80) faulty/jammed
* *▪ * *Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve (N115) faulty/jammed
* *▪ * *Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Sealing faulty
* *▪ * *Pipes between Tank Breathing and Throttle Body leaky/blocked
Possible Solutions
* *▪ * *Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80)
* *▪ * *Perform Output Test
* *▪ * *Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Solenoid Valve (N115)
* *▪ * *Check Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister
* *▪ * *Perform Basic Setting
* *▪ * *Check Pipes between Tank Breathing and Throttle Body
Any ideas on where to look first given the faults and the stalling symptom?
It is a 1998 A4 2.8 non quattro.
