2000 a4 1.8 epc is on key stuck in ignition,wont start?

slow take off, got home and the key wont come out of ignition, epc light on dash is on and car now wont start, please help.

yes its in park . more worried about ecp than key, but weird both happened at same time

unhooked the battery and the key came right out. so it obviously has something to do with the epc code .
