My car is a 2001 quattro with the v6, & it needs the tip transmission and torque converter replaced. I've found a good condition transmission and torque converter from a 2000 1.8t. I did some searching and seen that a few guys ran the v6 transmission with the 1.8 motor so I would assume it would work the other way around.

From what I understand the transmission mounts need to be swapped over. Will I need the tcu aswell out of the 1.8 car? With the slightly different gear ratio's I'd hate to have my car keep throwing codes after swapping in the transmission!!!

Last thing, does anyone know if the v6 torque converter is the same as the 1.8??
