Started car and sounds like a high pitch rattle noise.are the chains commonly a issue on these.2008,s4..v8

 

Thx. I am hoping not. Mech trying to flush and new oil to see if it disappears. If not, 35-40 hours quoted plus parts!! Only 100k km but it is possible anytime. Thought broken plastic tensioners would make duller noise as well but chain noise may mask it. Must be tensioners caused chain issue. Any upgrades on better tensioners if I repair?

 

Its one or two specific guides made of plastic on S4's. RS4 has metal guides if I remember. It is a common issue, however depending on what oil specs and oil change intervals it will happen sooner.

No because it's an engine/transmission pull out. Theirs usually other issues and maintenance to do.
