Pics of 2010 S5
Hey guys. Here are some pix of my S5. Gonna get the Stasis ECU on friday. Will let you know if it makes any difference. I had Stasis exhaust installed a few months ago, and have put on 2000km since. It drones a bit under 2000rpm. Can't notice any difference in acceleration. Sounds pretty sick at 2300rpm and above tho

Beautiful car! I like the wheels.
I have the full Touring Signature package on my 2011 A5 and it's quite a noticeable difference over a stock A5. I hope you get that noticeable feeling after having the ECU flash. It's a great feeling!

so... $1700 + 2000 later (ECU and Exhaust)... I can't say I am noticing much of a difference other than the sound from the exhaust. I guess the naturally aspirated V8 isn't really meant to be modded... unless you wanna drop $15k and get the MTU supercharger. But then again maybe you should just get the RS5 when it comes out (audi says it'll be over $100k tho).
BUT, I still love my car and I guess it'll be very slightly (maybe 0.1s for 0-60) faster than the other S5s in the city. haha

Re: Pics of 2010 S5
Sounds like an MTM tune. $1700 is retarded expensive for an ECU tune. The likes of which, B8 S4 guys are usually the only ones subjected to due to the small market supported by only APR. There's no reason to pay $1700 for a 4.2 tune.
OP, see if you can get a refund for the tune, then contact JHMotorsports (v8@jhmotorsports.com) and tell them you want to be in the S5 4.2 tune group. They will deliver an ECU tune that will really change the way you feel about modifying your car.
You said 'the 4.2 wasn't meant to be modded' but I take exception with that. Here are some examples.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++
1. my B7 S4 had JHM tune, downpipes and exhaust. I went to the dragstrip with bangoman and his bone stock B6 S4. Same day, same track, both good drivers. Only difference were our mods. We each got 10 runs. Our best:
He ran 13.8 @ 102 mph, which is pretty much spot on for a stock S4.
I ran 12.9 @ 107.8 MPH.
JHM tune/downpipes/catback were good for 9 tenths and 5 MPH in the quarter mile
2. my B7 RS4 is bone stock, and a month ago I went to the dragstrip with my friend George and his B7 RS4 with JHM tune, JHM downpipes, JHM exhaust and JHM clutch/flywheel. Both good drivers, and we each got 6 runs. Our best:
I ran 13.14 @ 106.5 mph
He ran 12.28 @ 112.45 mph
JHM tune/exhaust/clutch/flywheel gained him 9 tenths and 6 MPH in the quarter mile
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So...don't say mods don't work on the 4.2 cars. The right mods definitely do!
