Default Oil change

I'm due for an oil change soon.
I generally like doing it myself this would be the first time on a German vehicle.
What kind of oil should I use, how much and etc.
If someone could help me out I'd appreciate it.

MANN filter approx. $30
9.5L of 5W-40 full synthetic (Castrol - CT has a sale right now)

If you are doing the drain from the bottom method be careful because it comes out like a fire hose. On the other hand if you are doing the extraction method (my fav and the one I use) the whole change takes 15-20 minutes no mess and no jacking the car up and removing the skid plates.

Good luck.

Always get the filter from the dealership. It comes with a crush ring for the drain (which you MUST change if you drain from the bottom, or you'll enjoy a little leak).

It's also only about $19. Contact neil@owasco for forum discounted pricing.

Thank you guys for the replies how much oil do I have to put in I know its a bigger engine than I'm use to dealing with so I'm not quite sure I will read the manual etc but this is a lot easier.
I wouldn't want to put too much nor too little.

I think it's more like 9-9.5 quarts which is about 9 L . Depends though. You can drain it from the bottom thoroughly, then add 9 quarts comfortably, and then go from there checking the dipstick.
