First off this has been a very informative forum with great participants. I am set to make some upgrades to my S4 and am looking for some feed back. Money really is not my primary motive, performance is. I know that I will definitely be getting a JHM tune as one of my first upgrades, but am questioning the best sounding and performing exhaust. I have liked the sound of the AWE Tuning and APR exhaust more than the JHM set up. I seem to see better performance dyno results with the APR system, but questioning real life application. Any feed back on a JHM tune with APR full system exhaust would be much appreciated. Assumptions on the combination are well welcome. Finally, anyone have experience with the JHM nitrous system. Thanks!

I can't quite speak to the performance aspect though. I've heard the FI has a great X section but I don't know enough of each to comment properly.

As for the Nitrous system, I've heard it's fantastic. You can go to audirevolution.net and ask around, there's at least one guy there that has one.

Nice car! The evidence/opinion around the community is that the starting point for an exhaust upgrade for the JHM tune is "piggies" + 2.5" catback.

Piggies = stock downpipes with the precats gutted. DIY or buy them/core exchange with JHM. The other alternative is a pair of 2.5" catless downpipes for more performance.

2.5" catback exhaust options: the FI system from JHM probably has the best sound/performance but is the more expensive option. The other 2.5" option is Magnaflow, which cost me about $720 incl taxes shipped to my Canadian door from a company called Performance Peddler using a coupon "audipipes".

AWE/APR may sound better but do not offer the same bump in performance that the FI/Magnaflow systems+piggies offer. AWE/APR are 2.25" IIRC. While that may not sound like a lot, remember it's for both sides.

Sorry to impose on your thread.. i was wondering you you can recommend (or if anyone can) a nice exhaust system for 01 S4...Something that is not crazy loud like Borla but that has some more juice than the stock system..thanks
