Re: 2008 S4 - Cant get rid of vibrations at 120 - 140Kmh
Hey guys,
So still having the issue I had it looked into by audi and they were saying my tires are egg shaped no good. The road force was way off, however the wheels and tires I had before were doing the exact same thing. I had them replaced today and it is still doing the same thing to less of an extent. The wheels are perfectly straight! However it will get worse I don't want to drive the car until I figure out what the problem is. One mechanic I have taken to beleives it is a drive shaft rear driver side. As the vibration seems to be comeing from there. He said if you grab the shaft there is a tiny bit of play and the others are solid. Would this cause these kind of vibrations and tire issues. Any advice on others with driveshaft issues please let me know. Im planning to order one tomorrow from Audi.
Thanks

are you paying for all of this? Maybe I'm misreading, but it seems like you're on your 4th set of wheels and tires or something.
Why doesn't the dealer put a set of wheels/tires on your car from their inventory or something? They must have a set of returned 57.1 wheels there.
I sold my S4 so I can't help you anymore unfortunately, unless you want to try out some 19x9.0 RS4 wheels on there.

Make sure the lugs are torqued correctly as well. I have had 2 different installers put wheels on my car, including an Audi dealership and they were incorrectly torqued. Also, you should check torque about 80 KM after wheel install.

my new Rs4 had the wheels torqued to about 49,000 ft-lbs of torque when I got it. It was ridiculous.
