Leasing an S5...2013, or wait for the 2014?
Hey everyone,
New here. Looking into leasing an S5. Right now I am thinking of a 2013, but I was wondering if you guys think there would be a good chance of them bringing in a titanium/black optic style package for 2014?
The dealers I have talked to so far have told me that there is no optianon to order black trim on a 2013 S5. Anyone know if this is indeed correct? I've just seen some awesome photos of black trimmed A/S5's out there, and don't want to miss out.
If it's not currently an option, do you think there is a good chance it will come back as an option for 2014 if I wait?
I'm coming from a BMW and have come to realize that owners/enthusiasts often have better knowledge than the people that sell the cars.
Thanks!

hard decision there... I'm not one for waiting as anyone that knows me can attest too. Problem for you is you are right in the middle between years. so its either get the car now on lease or wait 6 months for the new 2014. i would imagine the dealers would have order info or info in general on the 2014 by may.

Thanks for the reply.
Yeah that's basically the issue. I'm already getting offered a pretty lousy trade for my car (only a few years old, financed...I know, first world problems, right?) so I definitely know will lease this time. But it sucks as I will either get a 2013 as the 2014's are starting to come out, or I will get a 2014 and drive it right into terrible weather in Ottawa.
I guess I will have to gamble. With my luck, they will come out with a black package right after I place my order

1. buying the $500 wheel upgrade
2. $500 for a blacked out front grill
3. either wrapping the trim in black or using plastidip on the trim.
the USA Ti package was not available in CDN for 2012 either, I have a black grill waiting for install, as well I ordered the car with the rims. So last on the list is wrap for the trim.
Really depends on if you are willing to gamble and wait or want the car now. I can tell you that 2010 and 2011 Ti cars in teh states took an extra 2 months on order due to supply of the required parts. So 5 months instead of 3 months on factory orders.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies.
I wouldn't mind driving my BMW one more summer (when it truly shines with RWD and at least get some more value out of it.
It will suck driving a poor S5 almost straight into winter right off the bat though.
I guess my only other thought would be on pricing/incentives. Is it honestly possible to get a better deal now than when 2014's come out? Right now I am being offered $2000 off MSRP and I haven't even negotiated yet. With that said, I'd like to negotiate a lower price without completely grinding the sales guy into the ground.
What's considered a good deal on an S5 in Ontario? Do you bother looking at invoice pricing or just aim for a percentage off MSRP?
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Could you dig into it more and see if you can confirm that? I am already leaning towards a 14 anyways, as I don't want to have "13" in my car year
I like to do business with those that understand the difference small details like the black styling make to a customer, so I appreciate any info you can provide.
Cheers.
