Currently there is no way easy way of updating the navigation system. It is likely possible, but will likely be cost prohibitive. The navigation system is also still DVD based for Canada. The Audi Connect/Google Earth based navigation system is still unavailable in Canada due to network/carrier compatibility issues.

Sorry, you're right, the functionality works off of the HDD. It has for a few years now. I think my auto-correct replaced HDD (or some other mistakenly typed variant) with DVD. I noticed another wording mistake that unfortunately I cannot go and edit either.

In case anyone cares, I ordered a fully loaded 2013 S4 about a month ago, and I didn't even know about the G maps haha. I hope I get it soon
The pricing seems to have gone down. A lot of stuff that was options on the 2012 is now standard on the 2013 premium like navigation B&O etc. The few things that remain as options are things like the sport rear differential and drive select, as well as the sun shades

I'm planning on ordering a 2013 this week. My configuration as it stands now is

Delivery should be sometime around the end of October. I'm coming out of an SUV now so I'm really excited/nervous.

What did you end up choosing for options?? i have the 2012 and got all the options except backup camera and the shades. camera i can have installed for half the price audi wanted to add it.
sports diff and drive select a must have option in my opinion. coming from an 07 a4 and a 2012 a4. my 2012 s4 is so much more fun to drive. takes getting used to because no lag anymore like the a4 has with the inline 4 w/ turbo. the s4 is so much quicker. great fun for "spirited drives"
ps. Congrats on the car! love to see pics when it comes in!
