Poor Gas Mileage

Poor Gas Mileage
I was wondering if anyone has some insight as to what might be wrong.
I have a 2006 A3 2.0 Automatic with 165k, regular oil changes and
I use Shell VPower only in my car. I would normally get about 500-520km on a tank of gas. My driving is a combo of hwy and city driving. For the Past month I have only been getting 300 km on a full tank of gas which is really weird. any suggestions as to why this might be happening ?
I seriously cannot afford to be filling up a gas tank @ 1.53 a liter and having it diminish in 300km.

Re: Poor Gas Mileage
We must see an Audi specialist . There are several possibilities. Check :
- Air-fuel mixture (computer, Senders Sensors, Oxygen Sensor, etc..);
- The coils (ignition) and the spark plug
- Air filter
- Tire pressure
Good luck. 4Circle

Re: Poor Gas Mileage
I started getting awful gas mileage in two situations:
Failing thermostat. Before it does the whole drop to nil to indicate it's dead, it offers you a glimpse of its pending failure by returning terrible gas mileage and taking a really really long time to warm up—part of the problem.
Failed diverter valve. Noticed the same with a torn first version of this guy. If you've never had it replaced, it could be hurting you.
