P0171-Cleaning MAF Sensor

I am getting a P0171 OBD2 trouble code on my '06 A3 and have read online that the most likely culprit is a dirty MAF sensor. Has anyone attempted to take their's out and clean it? Where is the MAF located?

Watch the video. This is on a 4.2 V8 but your MAF sensor should be in the same location.
