Honestly, if it's cheaper to do, I'll probably do it. To be honest, I have to detail my car soon as well, and thats going to cost $230.00 alone. I'm in Montreal by the way... I'll post pictures soon, it's pouring out at the moment.

I already received a quote on paint alone, and to have it professionally done would cost me $500. I know, sounds ludicrous! This alone makes me think CF is a good option. If anyone knows a good shop in Montreal, lemme know asap.

BTW, hood OEM would run me 400.00 shipped. And still needs paint...

$230 for a detail.. WOW.. I used to do detailing and we charged 109.99 for complete everything including wax.

I dunnno, rates maybe higher there as there may be more demand.. here every other corner has a detail shop.

As long as the stone dent isn't too bad, you may be able to pop it out do some smoothing and keep the original OEM hood.. But the prices you are shooting, it would make sense to go that CF route.. Being a black car, it will blend nicely i guess. Just remember, no matter what, carbon fiber hoods never fit as nice as OEM...

A good quality CF hood, if done right, can actually add visual appeal to a Euro car. For some reason, most Honda owners just buy low quality, extra shiny, and mismatched carbon cloth in the hood. If everfresh goes the CF route, he can later on paint over the CF hood if he gets tired of the look. But for me, raw carbon fibre is just plain sexy!

Here's a few photos of the hubby's Ducati Carbonnio track bike to illustrate just how sexy raw carbon fibre is:
