2008 A3 radio and central locks turning on and off - help!
Hi everyone,
Has anyone had this issue...
Car is a 2008 A3 S-line with 39000miles.
The radio will go off and on and this coincides with the central locking system engaging and disengaging.
Happens intermittently.
Any help is appreciated. I'd love to know what solutions anyone on the forum has had.
Thank you all
Sean

Hi Sean
My radio goes off intermittently as well. I haven't noticed whether the door locks engage or not.
2008 Sline.
I'm taking mine in next week. If I get anything useful from the dealer, I'll post results here.

Curios. Mine has done that in the past but I haven't noticed it for quite a while. Haven't noticed a problem with the locks.

I also have a problem with the clock display on the radio. It intermittently goes off regardless of whether the radio is on or off. The clock display on the instrument cluster doesn't have a problem.
Please keep us up to date. I was told by the local Audi service dept. that the radio is not covered by the certified warranty. During the brief conversation at the counter they were unaware of any other control component which might cause the problem.

Audi told me that there is a TSB (technical service bulletin) on the ignition switch that affects various electrical components including the radio and the (electric) door locks. They replaced the ignition switch to fix the problem.
Steve thanks very much. Would you have the number of the TSB? I'd like to bring it to the attention of my dealer and see if it fixes my problem.
I've done an extensive on-line search on the number (s) and can find nothing. Also can not find any TSB at all on any model of Audi for the ignition switch, except one where the key gets stuck.
Could you double check the number or if it is a Volkswagon TSB? ThanQ.
