Default Issue with b5 s4

the car was running great and then shut it off, started 15 minutes later and it felt like a little lawnmower, back firing and engine shaking, Towed it home. Scanned it with a buddies scanner and originally was getting a misfire code in cyl 1,3,4,6 and the code P0300. I took it to get the coil packs and spark plugs changed. This improved the engine a little. They did a compression test and now cyl 6 has 0 compression. I was driving the car normally before this happened.

Any Thoughts?, Thanks Everyone.

Zero compression suggests a bent valve. Did the timing belt jump a tooth due to a failed belt tensioner? First would try pulling the belt covers and confirm all accessible portions of the belt are under tension.

Don't drive!

Lol I am no help. But I had misfire issues, replaced the spark plugs and coil packs, cleaned the maf and this fixed my problem. What did other people with the same code do to fix this problem?

if he has no Comression in the #6cyl.. he has a bent valve so doing those things will not help

Sounds like a timing belt skipped and you have bent a valve - sorry - Big $$$

If you are mechanically inclined and have a nice warm garage to work in you can have it fixed for under $500. I had the same problem, grabbed a service manual and a few tools and about 10 hours of work and two days later engine was like new.

I'm currently dealing with the aftermath of a bent valve dropping in the cyl just made a big post on it.

Like K04 Said...check your timing belt first. A systematic approach is the best way. ICM modules do go eventually causing misfires as well.

I realize this thread is as old as a dinosaur...any updates on what the problem was?
